AlexD hooked us all up with this robust and incredibly awesome framework developed as a part of his Computer Science Master Thesis. The framework allows users to become immersed in a whole body virtual reality experience. It's something you definitely need to see to believe. But we'll get to that soon enough.
With the DirActNI framework, the user is able to control the environment directly and without having to come into contact with any physical controllers or sensors. The primary goal was to implement and evaluate contactless 3D interaction techniques. Let's just say it's a good bet he passed with flying colours.
